Our Medical Providers
Diana Pallin, MD
Dr. Diana Pallin is board certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine and is a member of the Obesity Medicine Association. She has been practicing Obesity Medicine since 2013.
"My interest in treating obesity started early on in medical school as many of my close family members were struggling to control their weight. Unfortunately, medical school and my residency program did not offer much in the way of nutrition and lifestyle medicine training.
After completing my residency in Internal Medicine, I pursued further training in Obesity Medicine and incorporated the four pillars of medical weight management into my practice to help my patients lose and maintain a healthy weight. The four pillars of medical weight management include nutrition and exercise counseling, behavior modification, and prescribing FDA-approved anti-obesity medication.
Becoming an obesity medicine specialist allows me to help my patients improve their health and quality of life, lose weight safely and prevent developing chronic metabolic conditions associated with carrying extra weight.”
Jessica Ford, NP
Jessica is an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (NP) who earned her Master’s degree at Neumann University. Her interest in preventative medicine started whileworking in an acute care setting.
“I have been working in an acute care setting since 2009. I have personally seen the complications associated with disease processes that can be easily prevented and treated with the right support from the medical community. Although obesity is now recognized as a chronic disease, the general medical community still lacks the education themselves to treat obesity and its associated problems effectively.
I chose to pursue my degree in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care in order to help patients prevent and treat conditions with education and lifestyle interventions. Working with Dr. Pallin at New Start Medical, I have been able to see my patients improve their mental and physical well-being and get back to living their best lives possible.”
Justine Witzigman, PA
Justine Witzigman is a Physician Associate who graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. She joined New Start Medical in 2024.
“ In my time as a medical provider, I have seen the many unfortunate effects that long-term obesity leads to, including chronic disease, pain, increased utilization of healthcare resources, effects on mental health, to name a few. I am honored to serve in this role and help patients mitigate and even eliminate these medical complications by helping them in the weight loss efforts. I enjoy helping patients reach their personal health goals, help them appreciate their successes, and have hope for their future.”
Katherine Grinberg, PA
Katherine Grinberg is a Physician Associate (PA) who earned her Master’s degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Penn State Abington. Katherine is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
“My passion has always been to help and support people along their journey. Becoming a PA has helped me pursue my passion to provide the best quality care. Obesity medicine and working with Dr. Pallin allows me to continue to find ways to help people with their weight loss journey by following obesity medicine guidelines. There is no greater joy than being part of someone’s health journey and seeing them improve their health.”
Rachel Im, NP
Rachel Im is a Family Nurse Practitioner who earned her Master’s degree at Thomas Jefferson School of Nursing. She has been practicing Obesity Medicine since 2018.
"I've always felt modern medicine over-prescribes medications to treat disorders, which lead to side effects requiring a chain of further medications. While the medical field is aware of the health risks of using of multiple drugs to treat a single condition, it often seems inevitable.
New Start Medical has given me a path to pursue true preventive medicine. I am able to focus on treating our patients with nutritional and lifestyle changes, while limiting medications required. I see real outcomes in weight loss, treatment of disorders, and most importantly, I see our patients get back their healthy lives.”
